$1,000 Mint Julep Cups for sale
The official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby is back again this year on May 5, offering the world’s most exclusive Mint Julep Cup, the official drink of Kentucky Derby for the last 75 years. And is inviting you to sip and savor the glitz and glamour of the renowned Kentucky Derby at the Churchill Downs race track in Louisville, KY, with the Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Cup, featuring ‘Double’ the most exotic ingredients.

The 2012 cup is double in exclusivity, delivering one-of-a-kind experience for Woodford Reserve and the $1,000 Mint Julep Cup. Only 75 cups will be available, marking the 75the year of mint julep to be the official drink of the famous race, for which the purchase began on 16the April.
Each of the cups will be individually numbered and will be presented in Woodford Reserve’s signature casing made from the same wood as barrels of Woodford Reserve. A total of 65 ‘Traditional’ polished cups have been meticulously hand-engraved with an incredible horse scene along with the iconic Woodford Reserve logo and 2012 Kentucky Derby date, and will come with an exclusive sterling silver sipping straw. The hand-engraving work on the cup involves the use of seven different graver tools, and it takes around two and half hours to produce the cup, making each cup exclusive.

There will also be 10 ‘Prestige’ cups for sale, in addition to the 65 traditional cups. Plated in 24 karat gold, these sterling silver cups features diamond horseshoe with a total of 43 diamonds of one carat each hand-set by a jeweler. However, these extremely rare Prestige cups will be available for $2,000, double the price of the Traditional cups.

Featuring ‘Double’ the ingredients, the 2102 $1,000 Mint Julep Cup will includes some of the world’s most exotic ingredients. For the very first time, the Mint Julep Cup will feature the new bourbon Double Oaked, Woodford Reserve’s premium bourbon. Double the sugar, the cup will feature the Bourbon Vanilla Sugar along with Bourbon Mint Julep Sugar from the famous Bourbon Barrel Foods in Louisville, KY. And, buyers will also taste double the mint, the combination of lemon mint and spearmint will add fresh and light enhancement to the classic Mint Julep Cup along with double the ice too.
Traditionally, all the net proceeds from sales of the Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Cups will benefit The Heart of a Horse Foundation.
