On your right is the world’s most expensive painting of all times. It features the portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer the wife of a Jewish sugar industrialist. This amazing work of art is the creation of Gustav Klimt and was purchased for Neue Galerie in Manhattan for $135 million.

The rich man behind the deal is the cosmetic magnet Ronald S. Lauder. The man calls it their own Mona Lisa and says, “It is a once-in-a-lifetime acquisition.”

The Gold flecked portrait was hung in the Austrian Gallery in the Belvedere Palace since past 60 years and now the expensive possession will adorn the Neue Galerie, a tiny museum at Fifth Avenue and 86th Street devoted to German and Austrian fine and decorative arts.
