Nandini Rathi / March 2, 2006

gold coin cake
The Vienna Coin Cake is as gorgeous as the $1.65 million Diamond fruit cake but this time it is all studded with Gold coin. You might have guessed it from the pic above that it is something related to the great musician Mozart…yes it is. The Vienna Gold Coin Cake, made up of number of expensive coins, is worth $2.16 million and this is the third culinary monument from the time the first chocolate sculpture of Mozart was exhibited in a supermarket at Tokyo. This Gold Coin Cake is designed and exhibited by a jewelry shop in Tokyo where it has been on display since the 1st of March.

The gold-loaded cake not only honors Mozart on his 250th birth anniversary but also balances it perfectly well with rare sophistication and generosity that has been the trademark of the Culinary Industry.
