When there is money to flash, it seems the richest spenders wouldn't mind literally sipping a part of it, to make their circles know how they lead their lifestyle. The new way to do precisely that, would be the $40,000 Ruby Rose cocktail, which obviously happens to be one of the most expensive cocktails in the world. Made at the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk, Maine, this precious alcoholic concoction uses vodka as the main alcohol base, added with St. Germain Liqueur, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, a dash of rosewater, all on top of a 4-carat red ruby! The reason for creating this expensive cocktail, is the celebration for the White Barn's 40th anniversary this year. Looks like the Winston 1858 Croizet cognac cocktail at Club 23, the Salvatore Clabrese $8,830 cocktail, Louis XIII Diamond Jubilee cocktail, or the Goring Hotel's Swarovski glass cocktail aren't so rare after all!
One wouldn't perhaps pay $40,000 for a glass of the Ruby Rose cocktail, if just the basic ingredients are considered. Hangar One vodka, St. Germain Liqueur, fresh grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, and rosewater make up the cocktail, but the 4-carat ruby placed below, changes the scenario altogether. Not being a regular at sipping these, we are left to wonder how such a cocktail would be radically different in taste and flavor. But, when it comes to the whims and fancies of the super rich, these outrages could be more palatable.
For those already looking to sip away $40,000 literally, the Ruby Rose cocktail will be available at the White Barn Inn from June 1 this year. The establishment says that atleast 2 of these would be sold, but the lineup could be more. Currently the team at White Barn have put a New York jeweler on the hunt for perfect specimens of the ruby, which will served with beverage, to be made live in front of the special guests. Do let us know, if anyone does manage to land up there.
