Al Pacino was born in New York, at East Harlem. As a child he went to the world-famous High School for Performing Arts in the Bronx. However, he was a dropout at 17 and he drifted between many jobs before joining Actor' Studios in 1966. Acting in the social drama, The Indian Wants the Bronx, he won the Obie best actor award for 1966-67. He then made his Broadway debut via Does the Tiger Wear a Necktie and movie debut inMe,Natalie. The Godfather trilogy in the 1970s immortalized him and it was followed by several sterling performances in Scarecrow, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, And Justice For All and Bobby Deerfield. Though his career slumped in the 80s, the 90s saw him make a strong comeback via Big Boy Caprice and his academy-award winning performance in Scent of a Woman. He has been busy ever since, till date with his casting inDespicable Me! Al Pacino never married in hi life but he is father to three children from various relationships.
