About Quotes Trivia
Born on: 20th Aug 74 Born in: United States Marital status: Single Occupation: Actress and Singer
American actress and singer Amy Adams did not have the best of starts in Hollywood, though when success came to her in her later years, it really poured in. The former dinner theatre actress made her film debut with “Drop Dead Gorgeous” a black comedy released in 1999. The role did not turn out to be a big hit as she had hoped and the actress went on to star in a number of B-grade movies and made guest appearances in several TV shows. She landed a supporting role in the Leonardo Di Caprio starrer “Catch Me if You Can in 2002” though it was her role in the 2005 indie project “Junebug” that really helped her arrive in the big leagues. The role earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as critical acclaim. The actress then landed roles in several romantic comedies like the 2007 Disney rom-com "Enchanted". Her portrayal of Sister James in the movie “Doubt” earned her nominations at the Golden Globes and the Oscars and she followed the critical success by starring in a number of romantic movies like Night at the “Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”, “Sunshine Cleaning”, “Julie & Julia” and “Leap Year”. Adams’ role as Charlene Fleming in “The Fighter” earned her the 5th Screen Actors Guild nomination of her career as well as her third Golden Globe nomination, her second BAFTA nomination and her third Oscar nomination. Even though she has had a somewhat slow start in Hollywood, Amy Adams has managed to become one of the more bankable actresses of her generation. With an estimated net worth of $30 million, Adams is currently commanding $5 million per feature film. In December of 2008, Amy Adams purchased a 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home in the lower Benedict Canyon area of Beverly Hills. Adams co-owns the sprawling 4,311 square feet property with her fiancé Darren Le Gallo which cost the couple a cool $1,825,000. As a minor celebrity in Hollywood, Amy Adams managed to keep her personal life fairly private. Not much is known about her love life prior to her success with “Junebug” though she has admitted that she began dating artist and actor Darren Le Gallo in 2001. The couple, who met in an acting class, got engaged in April ’08 after seven years of being together. Adams gave birth to their first child together, a daughter named Aviana Olea Le Gallo in May 2010.
