Angular Momentum's sparkling timepieces use diamonds and diamond dust for beautiful dials

Wrik Sen / Feb 7 2012

Though the premier watchmakers of the world have experimented successfully with precious metals and stones for their creations, but few match up- to what Angular moment can do with gold, diamonds or even porcelain. Check out the Porcelain medallion and the Sculpture series, and you will know why we hold them in high regard. Their latest collection, named ‘Sparkling Digital’ recreate the magic will steel, white gold, and most importantly, a girl best friend, ‘diamonds’. Virtually garlanded and bathed with specially cut editions of the precious stone and its dust, aesthetics have touched a new level altogether with this new series of 5 watches.

· Big Octagon

Big Octagon watch

The name of the watch is derived from the unique shaping of the 1.44 NCu staybrite steel casing, which has 8 corners on the outside. With a 45 mm wide casing, it’s definitely a part of the big dials, which in this includes a black sapphire crystal dial, endowed with enormous generosity of TW VVS diamonds baguette diamonds, each one of them crafted to a different size. Just in case you miss a part of it without diamonds, the dust of the precious stone has been scattered all around. The movement inside is a self-winding mechanical one, and the time is displayed though a small aperture at the 12 ‘o’ clock slot.

Largely similar to the Octagon, this watch differs in terms of the casing shape, which is circular, and also the width a little less at 40mm for the dial. Never the less, the generous use of diamonds on the black sapphire crystal dial base, gives a very shimmery aesthetic appeal. Also, the outer ring of the case carries a garland of baguette diamonds, and the side bezel carrying a single black one instead. Like the Octagon, and few other from Angular Momentum, the time is displayed through the aperture at the 12 ‘o’clock slot.

· Pave Watch

Another watch with 1.44NcU staybrite steel casing which has been mirror polished, and is 42mm in diameter. The dial is again sapphire crystal which has been enameled black in color, fitted with TW VVS baguette cut diamonds on various sizes, with generous helpings on diamond dust scattered on the dial. With a similar round shape overall, the side buckle receives a slightly different design, with the outer ring of the dial endowed with diamonds till the side buckle, establishing a more prominent pattern of decoration.

· Full Pave Watch

Built on exactly the same premises as the Pave model, this watch has a slightly smaller dial measuring at 38mm in diameter, and also the strapping of the watch which is white in color. It too has a similar mechanical movement like the others in the series, with the aperture slot displaying the hours; where as the rest of the dial is playing ground of the multiple TW VVS diamonds of various sizes.

· Boulle Watch

This is perhaps the premium option offered in the series, simply because of the 18carat White Gold casing, which has been given a mirror polishing, and an internal hand wound mechanical movement to drive its engine. Compared to the other timepieces, it has a slightly smaller size with 38mm width, but the use of White gold gives it a shimmer which is perhaps not as stunning as this. Also the black enameled dial has been given its share of multiple sized diamonds, but the dusting seems to be heavier.
