Apple Co-Founder Ron Wayne Could Have Been Worth $35 Billion Today
“Apple”, one of the largest and most iconic global companies in the world has transformed several people’s financial fortunes ever since its inception in the year 1976 and created several millionaires. However not everyone is so fortunate and it seems that destiny always has some other plans as one bad decision did cost a person an exorbitant amount of fortune. Three young men founded a startup company named “Apple Computer” on 1st April, 1976 during the early stages of their respective careers. However most of us are familiar only with the iconic names of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Not many know that Ron Wayne was one of the three original co-founders of “Apple”. Wayne was in his early forties during that time and helped to provide the company with the much needed stability that only a mature person can offer. Wayne was expected to play role of the perfect balancing factor in the company between the other two young creative entrepreneurs. However fate decreed that Wayne sold his 10% stake in the company owing to personal reasons just two weeks after Apple was founded. Assuming that Ron had retained his shares till date, the value of his stake would have zoomed to around $35 billion today. Wayne was brought on board by Jobs and Steve Woznaik. Ron had collaborated with the iconic duo during his stint as the Chief Draftsman for “Atari” in the early 1970s decade. In his exclusive interview Wayne has provided many insights about the real nature of the iconic great American inventor Steve Jobs who single handedly turned a struggling firm to a multibillion dollar empire. According to reports Wayne apparently left the electronic firm as he could not connect with Jobs on the same wavelength. Wayne also found difficult to work with Jobs owing to the deceased Apple CEO’s argumentative, cold and stubborn nature. However Ron has claimed that if he had stayed on with Apple ignoring his basic philosophy of life then he could easily have ended up as the richest man on Earth. Ron maintains that he doesn't regret his decision at all since his walk out allowed him to pursue his own interests in the field of manufacture of slot machines. According to reports Wayne had a major fall out with Jobs when he decided to splash over $1,500 on parts of a product which Ron decided otherwise. Apparently Wozniak and Jobs invited Ron to rejoin “Apple” but he declined since he had some other plans lined up at that time. After pursuing his other career interests Wayne retired to Florida after buying a magnificent large mansion. However soon after he settled down he suffered another blow due to the fact that all of his life savings were stolen. Currently the 78 years old Apple cofounder is enjoying a state of semi-retirement at Pahrump in Nevada.
