    Talk of cameras and one name that has been everywhere, from record books to auction circles, is Leica. We had told you about vintage Leica cameras fetching big bucks at auctions. A rare camera from the 1923 Leica o-serie camera made headlines by selling for $1.9 million in 2011. The vintage piece, as we had reported earlier, went under the hammer twice, smashing records on both occasions to become one of the most expensive cameras ever sold at an auction. And, yet again at the WestLicht auction another rare camera from 1923 part of the famous O-series, set a new record for being the most expensive camera, for a whopping $2.8 million selling price. And now, joining the list we have the black enamel Leica MP-126 which brings home a staggering $158,000.

    After the recent Helmut Newton Collection going on sale, it’s now the turn of noted photographer Richard Avedon to have his most iconic work; ‘Nastassia Kinski and the Serpant’ go under the hammer for $50,000+, as per estimates by Heritage Auction. Photographed in 1981 on gelatin silver tone scheme, this picture has always been known as the finest by Richard Avedon, who is known to have taken well over 2 hours to get this perfect picture in place. There were 200 editions of this particular picture which were available, out of which this one is marked #4, making it one of the first to be printed. Should have plenty of takers, who won’t mind pushing up the winning bid just like the photograph has set temperatures soaring.
