Audi R8 V10

Audi R8 V10

The Audi R8 V10 is a mid engine, two doors, super sports car sporting Audi’s trademark Quattro technology and the all wheel drive system. It was introduced by Audi in the year 2010. The Audi R8 was a technological marvel and Audi clearly did not want anything to go amiss in this vehicle. This is evident as the R8 was specially made by Quattro GmbH, a special subsidiary of Audi AG. Quattro GmbH was in charge of the design, technology and manufacturing of the vehicle since its early stages. The car is exclusively built at Neckarsulm, Germany, at Audi’s car production unit. The R8 was designed initially as an upgrade to the flag ship model TT. However, the TT was never meant to be phased out.

The Audi R8 V10 has an elegant interior based on two tone leather, which lends the car a sports look. The interior features aluminum and carbon fiber cloth to cut out on weight. The steering wheel has leather finishing in it and the dash board mounted gear shafts sit neatly behind the steering wheel. The car also has steering wheel mounted controls and most of the car’s electronics are controlled by this. There is ample storage space behind the seats and numerous cup holders at different locations. There is some neat LED work on the dash board and the tachometer and speedometer sit pretty in it.

The Audi R8 V10 is exclusively designed by following the guidelines of the Audi Space Frame technology and has aluminum used in most parts around the space frame design of the car. The R8 V10 is designed on Lamborghini Gallardo’s platform and hence the basic designing features - like wheel base and ground clearance - of the cars are the same. The car has an adjustable rear wing and spoiler to help keep the car attached to the ground at high speeds and hence prevents the front of the car from lifting from the ground. The car also has the aerodynamics inspired from the Audi TT.
