Airstream 685 caravan is its biggest motorhome to date
After creating the luxurious, spacious, and rather hi-tech motor home, in the form of the Series 2 684 caravan, Airstream that upped the tempo to create the Airstream 685 motor-home. This edition is stated to become the biggest one of its kind, even dwarfing its previous edition, which was known for its utility of space part from other features. Built on a similar frame as the 684, the main aim of creating this caravan is to accommodate families or small touring groups.

French artist wraps-up Ferrari F430 with leather and tattoo work
It seems the Ferrari F430 is about to become more famous than it already was. After seeing special editions like the Alligator leather themed version, its time the supercar gets a tattoo encrusted look on leather covered chassis. Artist Philippe Pasqua, who has been known for his elaborate tattoo designs, decided to ink the famous supercar in his own personal way by wrapping it in leather and applying art which has bought humans and automobiles on a common platform.

Maserati GranTurismo S Limited Edition for 150-years of a united Italy
Maserati Granturismo which we earlier saw as the Fendi special edition has just been re-introduced as a limited edition series, to commemorate the 150 years of a United Italy. Unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show, only a dozen of these Blue Sebring Maseratis will actually be made available for sale in Italy alone, with each getting a special face lift on the outside but not so much in the engine of the supercar.

Ferrari unveils its most exclusive publication ‘The Official Ferrari Opus’ special edition for India
Ferraris exclusive publication, ‘The Official Ferrari Opus: Diamante edition’ known to have some of the most high quality imaging, documentation, and access to exclusive insider accounts, has been launched in New Delhi, India. Opus Media Group is the enterprise which had joined hands for the exclusive publication with Ferrari, whose future markets include Asia, and more importantly India where a large number of Formula 1 racing and Ferrari fans reside. Like the Enzo Ferrari which had only a handful of them ever made, this book too shall have only 1 copy per country, and have a price tag of $250,000 (Rs.12.5 million).

When talking about the Tokyo Motor Show, the obvious visions coming to mind are futuristic abstract designs in various kinds of vehicles. We had seen examples in the form of the Lexus LFA supercar in 2009, and the list of Concept cars for 2007 Motor Show. The latest innovation creating headlines is the Daihatsu FC Shocase vehicle for the 2011 show. Taking cinema viewing to the next level of innovation, this vehicle is meant to a home theater system on wheels, than just a car alone.

2013 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder to sell for $1.1 million
Making them bossy, tough and fast is what Hennessey has done till date. We had earlier seen the VelociRaptor APV Wagon which had armor protection features amongst others, and this time it’s the 2013 Venom GT Spyder which is the talk of the moment. Produced in a limited edition of around 5 vehicles a year, each of them is stated to command a price of $1.1 million. If company records are to be believed, than of first set of 5 cars already has 2 of them sold out and will be delivered from 2012 onwards.

Maybach custom cars: A journey through the ages
Way back in 1909, Wilhelm Maybach and his son, Karl, founded the Maybach Motorenbau GmBH in Stuggart, Germany, which at that time began creating special edition petrol engines for rail cars. It later progressed to luxury cars, after the company gained prominence and designing expertise till 1940. Much later in 1997, the car making brand was re-established under the joint ownership with Daimler AG, the owners of the Mercedes Benz. They introduced the Maybach 57 & 62 amongst others, which became the symbols of luxury in the auto market, but the later years saw a dip in sales. Officials sources now report, that the brand in going to be halted from production from 2013 onwards. Even then, there have been some special editions of the car made such the diamond and gold trimmed versions, for super rich folks, some of which are highlighted here:

Classic 1954 Airstream caravan restored and up for auction for upto $450K
One of America’s oldest mail-order retailers, Orvis, teams up with equally impressive, Timeless Travel Trailers, to restore a yesteryear classic into a modern day heavyweight. Orvis has chosen the Denver-based Timeless to fully customize a vintage 1954 Airstream Flying Cloud trailer. The prospects which already sound very interesting have been given a totally new dimension as Orvis plans to auction this new-age vintage with bids starting at $75,000 and can fetch a maximum of $450,000. If you wish to own this vintage Airstream travel trailer from the classic 50’s, you’ll have to end up as the highest bidder with the estimates ranging from $150k to $450k.

Special edition Koenigsegg CCXR Al-Thani up for sale
A year ago, the Al-Thani royal family of Qatar, had ordered for a special edition of the Koenigsegg CCXR racing car in Turquoise blue color, since it was a particular choice of Prince Abdul Rehman Naseer Abdulla al-Thani, who is known for his knack for sports cars. This very car is now up for sale for a price tag of €825,000 ($1.09 million), with a total distance of 3000 km covered on the vehicle. Looking at this vehicle brings flash memories of other such masterpieces from the Swedish car maker, including the CCX-R black & red edition, and the CCXR Trevita with diamonds detailing.
