Baselworld 2011: World’s largest tourbillon ever incorporated into a wristwatch
If we believe what Franck Muller has to say, this is the largest tourbillon ever incorporated into a wristwatch. The new Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon 8889 T G SQT boasts a large 20 mm diameter tourbillon that covers the entire half of the watch. The tourbillon cage bears the initials “FM,” which stands for “Freaking Massive.” In order to ensure 10 days of power reserve that’s displayed at midday; the Giga Tourbillon comes with two pairs of spring boxes with a diameter of 16 mm. The traditional tourbillons usually have only one or two spring boxes. The Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon is undeniably a masterpiece for the lovers of exceptional timepieces.
