The one-off Batman-inspired Kia Optima
Mid-size four-door sedan Kia Optima; the best-selling vehicle renowned for playing a significant role in Kia Motors America becoming one of the rapidly-growing automotive brands in the United States, has now got a tricked-out makeover inspired by the Dark Knight’s darkest nights. The all-new, brooding Batman-themed Optima SX which will be making its debut in New York City’s Time Warner Center this week, is actually the result of Kia Motors America’s collaboration with DC Entertainment and RIDES magazine. Notably, the RIDES magazine and the iconic Korean-American comic-artist Jim Lee has helped in bringing The Dark Knight’s macho personality and pursuit of justice from iconic comic book pages to automaker’s flagship sedan. However, this Batman-inspired Optima SX is the first of eight customized vehicles that will represent the characters from the Justice League to benefit DC Entertainment’s ‘We Can Be Heroes’ giving campaign.
Kia’s Optima SX comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology and ultra-premium amenities in an aggressive design which has been customized with various Batman elements.
Further, this batmobile boasts a matte and piano-black paint scheme, lowered coilover suspension, muscular and eye-catching ground effects kit, a performance exhaust system, Ksport performance brakes, and 20-inch black wheels.
Besides, other modifications include custom front grille which has been shaped like a batwing, attractive yellow LED lighting accents, and the iconic bat signal stylishly etched into the HD headlights.
And, on the inside, the car boasts seats that are costumed in black leather and suede with yellow accent stitching, along with Batman logos, ‘utility throwing lights in the console and Batsuit and cowl in the trunk.
Speaking about the Batman inspired vehicles, we have seen some of the most outrageous Batmobiles like the world’s only turbine powered Batmobile that makes crime fighting a lot more fun, the 2013 Arrinera Supercar, a Lamborghini-esque styled Polish supercar which is the closest thing a Batman fan will drive to the Batmobile, the BatLimo, and the Batpod.
