The 2012 Spring /Summer shoe frenzy looks promising for heels and mules. Top-end designers like Canadian Jerome C. Rousseau reiterates once again that when it comes to shoes, heels signify fashion! This “well heeled” concept seems to be the mantra for most design house this season including top stylists Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Gaetano Perrone, Prada and D&G. The Australian, limited edition Whooga ugg boots is set to pre-empt competition by unfurling its extravagant tailor-made couture ugg boot. With a production limit of 500 pairs, the sales pitch tries to render “appeal” to the boot’s image by hand-delivering it. Louis Vuitton’s penchant for heels can be seen in the spring/summer 2012 designs that showcase mules with high and straight heels. The collection incorporates materials such as suede and also patented metallic calf leather. Vuitton presents felinity in this season’s pump shoe variations while sustaining sleek shape and pointed toe in its designs. The irresistible feminine sorbet colors in Vuitton’s pump shoe variations see the use of either refined calf leather or luxurious alligator.
The character of Vuitton’s ‘Merry-Go-Round ‘collection is jacked up by the price it demands. To delight your feet in the Pump shoe with Calf Leather, be prepared to shell out any thing around US$1000. Tempted by the Alligator Jaune shoe style? Be ready to cough out US$9950! Still can’t resist; go for either the Patent Leather and Suede type for US$1460 or the mule in Patent Leather and Metallic Leather for US$1300!
Not to be left out, Stuart Weitzman has pumps being offered at retails for around $300. But, higher demands for high-end styles have pushed Weitzman to launch its exclusive SW1collection with prices close to $595 for satin or suede dress shoes.
Weitzman's booties at around $800 could just be a pinch away but the boots could set you poorer by $1000 or so ! In his Spring/Summer collection of 50 shoes, Weitzman’s game plan is to embellish heels with suede, leather, satin combined with metal and natural shells, even mother of pearl!
The other toppers in the Spring/Summer 2012 fray are Chirstian Louboutin with his impressive collections which need not spell comfort but makes it to the top.
In a surprise twist of taste, Bollywood seems to have inspired Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The French designer has incorporated authentic Indian needlework and kundan stones in his collection to appeal to chic fashionistas in the Western world who yearn for some exoticism in fashion parlance!
Manolo Blahnik concentrates on more feminine and delicate shapes this season. Creator of Alexander McQueen shoe styles, Gaetano Perrone’s extravagant and incredibly designed shoes are likely to cut ice with red carpet regulars.
Prada has lined its collection to fit the current trends but, the one that does not appeal this season is D&G Spring/ Summer 2012 collection. Although low on the elegant side, the range scores on its comfier styles with flats, wedges and sneakers!
