BMW Motorrad shows Concept C, the scooter of the future
After the funky Scooter E concept by the BMW Group’s MINI offshoot, we have with us the new BMW Concept C Scooter from BMW Motorrad. Touted to be the scooter of the future, the BMW Concept C has been designed to address the demands of the future mobility in the mega cities. The futuristic scooter was revealed at the annual Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA) and it combines the conceptual comfort of a scooter and the agility of a motorbike. The scooter presents the prospect of an innovative and sporty big scooter for the future premium segment. With its looks and specs, you can easily recognize it as part of the BMW Motorrad family. Similar to the sporty BMW Motorrad models like the S 1000 RR, the Concept C also features a twin-tipped front spoiler.
The BMW Concept C enjoys a highly sporty design, with a speeder-style windscreen and a high rear section conveying the lightness and agility of Concept C’s powerful two-cylinder engine. The black chromium of the suspension and frame parts gels elegantly with the aluminum chromium, silver and blue paintwork of the body parts. The tires with flanks and treads of blue present the visionary facet of Concept C scooter. It boasts a highly complex mono-lever mechanism with hollowed-out shaft connected to a suspension strut visible from the outside.
Other salient features include the stable twin disc brake at the front, disc brake at the rear, BMW Motorrad ABS, LED headlamp integrated into the face paneling, two video cameras in the rear, to two LCD monitors in the cockpit and an extra LCD display to show the road speed, engine speed and other data. With the Concept C (C stands for Commuter), BMW Motorrad makes a move into the scooter market.
