23-year old Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. is an American record producer, singer/songwriter and rapper who is better known by his alias B.o.B. The artist first shot into fame with his debut single "Nothin' on You" which hit number one position in both American as well as British charts. The young rapper topped off his initial success with yet another hit single "Airplanes" which also made it to the top of both American and British charts. With his third single "Magic", B.o.B landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the third consecutive time. By delivering back to back hits, B.o.B secured the ninth spot on MTV’s Hottest MC in the Game of 2010 list. The singer launched his debut album B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray on April 27, 2010 which also reached the top spot on US charts.
Even though he didn’t come from a privileged background, B.o.B has done pretty well for himself in the music industry and has amassed a mini fortune to the tune of $5 million. The young musician has earned most of this wealth from the sales of his records and record deals with Atlantic Records, Rebel Rock Entertainment and Grand Hustle Records and the production of his album The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Reports also suggest that the artists charges between $35,000 and $65,000 plus rider for performances and appearances.
Not much is known about the spending patterns of the young musician. Hailing from a modest background, singer/songwriter B.o.B made the decision to become a rapper by the time he was in sixth grade. Even though his pastor father wasn’t too thrilled with his son’s choice of vocations, still he supported his son’s career once he saw how passionate and committed the young singer was towards the art. B.o.B played the trumpet in the school band till he landed a record deal and decided to drop out of school in the ninth grade.
