Brabus unveils 800 Widestar, the world’s most powerful off-roader

Brabus, one of the most respected tuning companies in the world, was all in the news last year for the Mercedes S600 iBusiness. This time, they have taken the wraps off the 800 Widestar, which they claim to be the world’s most powerful off-roader. It gets its power from a V12 bi-turbo engine with a rated power output of 800 hp/588 kW at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 1,420 Nm. The new off-roader is based on its predecessor, the Brabus G V12 S with 700 hp /515 kW, and it sets itself apart with its Widestar wide-body equipment and huge 23-inch Brabus “Platinum Edition” forged wheels.

The five-door vehicle based on the current Mercedes G-Class comes with an extensive luxury equipment package. Combined with a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, the engine gets the 800 Widestar to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.0 seconds. While the top speed is electronically limited to 240 km/h (149 mph, the off-roader can do 270 km/h (168 mph) without the limiter. For a perfect combination of sporty handling and excellent driving comfort, the off-roader features the innovative Brabus Ride Control smooth-ride suspension.

The equipments in the cockpit include includes a sport steering wheel, a speedometer with 280-km/h (182-mph) dial and stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated Brabus logo. The interior is custom made to suit the owner’s liking. The soft Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara is available in a variety of colors. The owner also has the option to choose from a range of upholstery designs and the wood trim is available in any desired color.
