Brad Pitt teams up with Frank Pollaro to launch high end furniture line
The 48-years old sexy, heart-throbbing superstar engaged to the most gorgeous women on earth Angelina Jolie, and father of six, Brad Pitt who has a sustained interest in architecture and design, evidenced from his role as narrator for PBS TV series Design e2, his ‘Make It Right foundation’, which enlists prominent architects to create quality affordable housing in post-Katrina New Orleans, and by his high-end collecting of modernist furniture, will now be fulfilling his lifelong dream of designing furniture. As the Killing Them Softly actor and activist has turned his talents to creating a collection of home furnishings by teaming up with New Jersey-based furniture designer specialist in Art Deco style Frank Pollaro. In his impressive debut as furniture designer, Brad Pitt is presenting a dozen furniture pieces, including chairs, tables and a fantastic Art Deco-styled bed, alongside over 45 works by his collaborator.
Brad Pitt and Frank Pollaro started their collaboration with the bed, which is an Art Deco styled bed that took two years to make, and features the frame crafted out of finest quality lustrous tropical-hardwood, along with refinements including nickel trusses to firmly support the king-size mattress, shagreen foot pads, and stylish nickel side tables with silk-under-glass tops.
Other of the Mr. Pitt furniture pieces includes an elegant 17-foot-long dining table, an elegant cocktail table, a number of side tables, a few of the club chairs, and even a bathtub for two which has been crafted in Statuario Venato Marble. (pictured below)
Notably, many of the designs impressively incorporates the idea of a geometric single line, which becomes apparent from the wood dining table’s case whose jagged base zigzags at unexpected angles, while a glass-top side table which boasts a wispy spiral metal base meticulously finished in 24K gold. Customizable in variety of finest materials and exclusive finishes, all of the designs will be made in limited numbered editions, and will be signed by both Brad Pitt and Pollaro.
The furniture collection, for which there is no information on the price and is expected to be at the highest end of the custom furnishings scale, will be shown in New York on November 13-15th.
The multi-talented Brad Pitt who’s now also pretty much a certified wine expert after doing a wine steward’s course, will serve own wine from Miraval estate at the time when he’ll tie the wedding knot with Angelina Jolie.
