Brooke Shields Estates and Homes ( 1 )
Manhattan townhouse
It was a 4-storey, brick house on which actress and model Brooke Shields set her heart upon to move into after her wedding with Chris Henchy. Built in 1910, the house was finally zeroed in upon after she toured all the brownstones in Manhattan. Of course, the first thing she did was to get the house renovated and redecorated by decorator David Flint Wood. The listed price of the house was $5.6 million.
Location: The house is located in the Greenwich Village residential area of New York which comes to the west side of Lower Manhattan.
Accommodation: This brick townhouse built in Greenwich Village is meant to accommodate 4 families comfortably. With a total 3,314-square-foot of living space, the house features four apartments in the four floors with a total of 18 rooms and 5.5 bathrooms. That is only to give an idea because the refurbishing might reduce the number of rooms in order to make way for more spacious ones.
Features: The home has a large and tastefully decorated living room with a mantel and fireplace. There are 7 other fireplaces in the house! Plush John Robshaw fabrics fill up the living rooms space and the bedrooms. The top floor features a children's playroom while the main parlor-floor kitchen has a huge hearth and a balcony too. The bathrooms are royal to say the least and the tub offers a secret view to the outside world from the neighboring window. There are paintings all over the home. Overall, the house exudes a happy harmony between tradition and modernism.
Neighborhood: The Greenwich Village is a popular haunt for celebrities. Sarah Jessica Parker, Alicia Silverstone and Rosie O'Donnell are some of the other celebrity residents here.
Brooke Shields Wedding ( 1 )
It was on the 4th of April, 2001 that model and actress Brooke Shields tied the knot to Chris Henchy after cozying up together for 2 years. It was a very secretive ceremony held on Catalina Island which is 26 miles off the coast of California. The couple with their close families and a small clutch of friends were whisked away in a boat from the Ritz-Carlton hotel and the couple changed dress en-route. The simple marriage was complete when Henchy slipped a platinum and diamond ring on to Shields' finger.
The bride wore a white Vera Wang dress which was flowing and the rings for the ceremony were from Neil Lane. It was judge Burton Kat who officiated the secret ceremony. However, the couple threw a big celebration, two months later, in Palm Beach Florida before honeymooning in Fiji. The second exchange of vows took place at the house of Terry Allen Kramer, the Broadway producer. The whole thing proved to be a double whammy as far as surprises were concerned!
