Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is the most powerful version to date
Superior in every sense, the Bugatti Veyron supercar has already earned itself a name in car history as an undisputed classic. We have previously seen the magnificent limited edition Veyrons, including the Pur Sang, Bleu Centenair and LINEA Vincerò. The latest to turn heads is the special edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. The new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport has set a new record for the world’s fastest production car at an amazing 267.81 mph, besting the previous one set by American SSC Ultimate Aero with its 256.12 mph run. Official test diver Pierre Henri Raphanel made the record on Volkswagen’s official Ehra-Lessian high-speed test track. Both the Guinness Book of Records and the German Technical Inspection Agency were present at the track to record the astonishing feat.
The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is Bugatti’s most powerful version to date, boasting 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 ft lb or torque. The supercar also comes with a modified aero kit. Only 30 Super Sport Veyrons will be put into production, with the first five dubbed World Record Edition having the same mix of orange and black as the record breaker, but the speed will be limited to 257.9 mph.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport will go on display at the Pebble Beach Concours weekend in California in August. The supercar will cost something between €1.65 and €1.85 million plus tax.
