Concept Car Pininfarina Sergio to be launched at Geneva Motor Show as tribute to Life Senator Sergio Pininfarina
Back in year 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show, we saw the launch of Pininfarina Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta Concept as a celebration of Pininfarina designs and a tribute to Alfa Romeo which celebrated its centenary in 2010, and also recently reported about Mazda and Fiat’s agreement that sets this two-seater concept for production in 2015. And in this year, Pininfarina will attend the Geneva Motor Show with a tribute to the renowned Italian automobile designer with exceptional talent who headed Pininfarina for 40 years and created a whole lot of legendary 4-wheel machines, Life Senator Sergio Pininfarina, who passed away in July 2012. To celebrate his incredible talent and his legendary work, Pininfarina in Geneva will unveil a concept car which renews the spirit of the extraordinary achievements born from Sergio Pininfarina’s pencil, translating it into a modern vision in the name of passion, innovation and exclusivity. And the exclusive concept car to be launched as tribute to the man, who was crowned by the international press ‘King of Design’, will be called ‘Sergio’.
The concept car Sergio will notably take you to the fascinating world of the two-seater barchetta as a unique and extreme object. It has been especially designed to offer sportsmanship in the truest sense, joy of driving, and will be a passion of those auto enthusiasts who think at the car as an excellent source of emotions, pleasure of admiring the unique forms of a custom-designed model by Pininfarina.
Speaking about Sergio Pininfarina, the iconic automobile designer was universally recognized as the ‘Maestro of Italian Style’ who went through and signed with his creative genius the entire history of design, since the period of great coachbuilders to modern industry, often anticipating trends.
