Connie Nielsen, a Danish actress began her acting career working alongside her mother on the local revue and variety scene. At the age of 18, she travelled to Paris, France where she worked as an actress and model and further learned acting, singing and dancing at drama school in Rome, Italy. After several years in Italy she moved to United States and currently resides in Newyork. Nielsen’s debut film in 1984 was a French film followed by other Italian and French films. However, it was in 2000 when she first garnered a mass appeal after her portrayal as "Lucilla", starring opposite Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix in Ridley Scott's Academy Award-winning epic Gladiator. In 2002, Connie starred with Robin Williams in the feature film "One Hour Photo". It was a thriller where she portrayed as a woman who is talked by an employee of a one-hour photo lab. Connie has continued her high-profile work in The Hunted, Basic and many other American films.
The actress has played a variety of characters from Satan's spawn to an astronaut to an emperor's daughter. In all her roles, she has managed to exceed the limitations and delivered memorable full-bodied performances.
