De Tomaso Pantera or simply the Pantera was a popular sports car of Italian origin. The reign of this Italian legend started in the early seventies and it lasted till the earlier nineties. An Italian company, called De Tomaso manufacture it from 1971 to 1991. The last of these cars was handed over to a customer in 1992 and the history of ‘Panther’ came to an end. The literal meaning of ‘Pantera’ in Italian is ‘Panther’. In 1970 the model of this car was made public for the first time in Modena and a few weeks later it was exhibited in the ‘New York Motor Show’. Almost a year later the car started to roll out from the assembly line. There were two different variants of this car, one for the European and the other for the American market. Both were custom built to suit the different conditions of the two continents and meet customer demands. But no matter, despite all these glitches, the car somehow managed to obtain a special place of its own, owing to its distinctive and classy looks. In those days many renowned celebrities adopted this Italian beauty.
