Renowned Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin lately caught everyone’s attention with a teaser shot of the company’s hybrid smartphone called the Chairman. It was not just a teaser, as the photos and other details for the phone have been disclosed now on the product site. As said earlier, the Chairman smartphone is on display at the Baselworld 2009. The smartphone features a functioning mechanical watch rotor, which is also incorporated into its elegant design. The built-in battery is charged with the kinetic energy of the moving rotor. A complete expression of dedication, passion and excellence, the Chairman smartphone is hand-assembled to ensure that Ulysse Nardin’s firm commitment to quality and craftsmanship is maintained.

Other salient features include a 2.8-inch multi-touch screen, fingerprint reader for owner identification and phone lock, numeric keys with high quality tactile response, email and internet application, a 5-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is still no word on pricing, but only a limited number of Chairman smartphones will be produced each year.
