Donna Karan

The fashion mogul Donna Karan owns a holiday retreat in East Hampton apart from owning four other in same locality. This retreat was bought for $ 4 million in 2011. The house was earlier owned by South American socialites Raul and Laura Fernandez and was built in 1980 by Columbia architecture prof Ulrich Franzen.

Location: The house is built in East Hampton which is located in southeastern Suffolk County, New York.

Accommodation: The vast mansion is located just at the sea shore and boasts a breathtaking view of the endless sea. The house is spread in the area of 4,203 square-feet and comes with a wine cellar and swimming pool.

Neighborhood: the area is filled with Karan clan as just next to her house it’s her daughter Gabby Karan De Felice’s residence. The fashion designer also two bungalows spread in 3,317 square-foot and 5,057 square-foot respectively.

Donna Karan bought a piece of land she had purchased nine years ago as a gift to her late husband, Stephan Weiss as they celebrated 17 years of marriage. But after her husband’s death she built a house on it and uses it as a family retreat.

Location: Donna Karan family retreat home is located in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the West Indies.

Accommodation: The retreat consists of guest, spa and yoga pavilions-- ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 square feet each. Pavilions are located in Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The main house of the retreat is largely open boasting breathtaking view of endless ocean. The house also has a separate guest house that is decorated with expensive artifacts.

Neighborhood: The beautiful island has holiday homes of many celebrities like Bruce Willis, Oprah Winfrey, and Keith Richards.

Donna Karan was spotted having a great time at the beautiful “Turks and Caicos Islands”, eminent for its white powdery beaches, majestic accommodations, and gourmet restaurants. The beautiful islands serve host to a number of celebrities from around the world.

Location: Turks and Caicos Islands are located southeast of Mayaguana in the Bahamas islands.

The American fashion designer supports the charity “Walkabout Foundation”, which aims at conducting research work to find a cure for paralysis, and donating custom fitted wheel chairs to the people suffering from paralysis. Founded in 2009, by Luis and Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster, the noble charity has provided funds for over 23 research projects and donated more than 1300 wheelchairs to needy places like Haiti. The charity works in association with the Clinton Foundation and the Christopher Reeve Foundation, for achieving its goal of helping the paralysis victims.

Founded by Donna Karan, the Urban Zen Foundation is dedicated for spreading awareness and accumulating funds for children empowerment, preservation of cultures and promoting different areas of health and well-being. For children empowerment, the noble charity collaborates with existing organizations in order to develop programs focused on enhancing the emotional, spiritual and physical growth of children. The foundation also focuses on integrative medicine and patient advocacy for promoting health and well-being of people.  

Donna supports the awareness campaign “The Heart Truth”, which focuses on spreading awareness in women about heart disease and the associated risk factors. Founded by the “National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute”, governed by the National Institutes of Health, the noble campaign educates women about the prevention and cure of heart diseases, so that they can live a healthier and longer life. To give a wakeup call regarding heart risks and diseases to the American women, The Heart Truth has introduced the Red Dress as a national icon for heart disease awareness for women. 

The American fashion designer supports the charity “Robert F Kennedy Memorial”, a facility established by Kerry Kennedy to support human rights movement. The “RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights” or simply Robert F Kennedy Memorial, offers original support to the brave human rights defenders around the globe. Founded in 1988, the charity runs an educational awareness program “Speak Truth to Power”, to educate the people about the worth of human rights, and also offers support to investigative journalists and authors who bring injustice in the notice of public. 

Donna supports the charity organization “Clinton Foundation”, which is dedicated for the development and support of the individuals and the world by framing practical programs relating to Health, education, tolerance, economy and peace. Established by President Bill Clinton, the noble foundation targets the key areas of economic empowerment, education, health and nutrition, and environment and energy. The charity utilizes its knowledge, resources, and passions to implement its key programs by forming partnerships with governments, nongovernmental organizations, businesses, and private citizens.

The American fashion designer has a gorgeous chocolate Labrador “Steph”, whom she adores to death. Fascinated by the adorable dog’s charm, Donna fell in love with it at first sight. The talented designer has named her cute dog Steph, in the honor of her late husband, Stephen, and is often spotted cuddling and playing with her darling Labrador. 

Donna Karan has been spotted wearing New York Yankees Baseball cap, on numerous baseball game occasions, in support of her favorite team.
