Ducati unveils the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition
ducati multistrada 1200 s pikes peak special editi At last year’s INTERMOT International Motorcycle Fair in Cologne, western Germany, Ducati exhibited the first of its new superbike models for 2011. To celebrate Greg Tracy’s victory in the 2010 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Ducati has now taken wraps off the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition. The special edition bike comes in an eye-catching Ducati Corse paint scheme with red trellis frame, which features red pin-striping on the wheels, the passenger foot-peg hangers and an engine guard with black anodized finish. The Pikes Peak Special Edition boasts a race-derived carbon fiber low windscreen, a Ducati Performance carbon fiber front mudguard and custom-made seats with red stitching. The individuality of the bike is noticeable from a numbered badge on the engine crankcase cover. The exceptional all-terrain versatility of the Ducati Multistrada can be noted from the fact that it has won the Pikes Peak race, which involves climbing a mountain track through 4,300 feet of altitude change. With the launch of this special edition, Ducati has also announced its entry in the 2011 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, featuring last year’s winning line up of Greg Tracy and Alexander Smith. The 2012 Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak Special Edition will be available starting June 2011, for a cool $21,995. Thanks, Sarah Vreugdenhil
