eBay Watch: Historic 1863 Steinway Concert Grand Piano
Here is a fabulous chance for the musicians and antique lovers to own a magnificent piece of history. This stunning Steinway 9.6′ Concert Grand Piano was custom made in 1863 by Steinway & Sons and eventually found its way back to Steinway Hall in NYC in the early 1920s whereupon it was acquired by Carnegie Hall in New York City. It stayed there for over 20 years and in the meantime, it was played by prominent pianists like Franz Rummel and Vladimir Horowitz in their performances. The historical piano was restored in 2006 by Grandmasters Pianos and was bestowed with new original Steinway parts including the soundboard, pin block, action parts and its original ivory keys.
Made of beautiful Brazilian rosewood, the Steinway 9.6′ Concert Grand Piano features classic styled 3 C-scroll engraving of the XIV period with acanthus leaf motif on its legs and side. The starting bid sits at US $125,000.
