E&E adds LARS XLS to Swedish acoustic beauties
Coming from the house of world leading manufacturers of high-end amplifiers, Engström & Engström has perfectly combined the Scandinavian furniture design and reliable engineering in their Lars XLS monoblock power amp. One might confuse the new creation with E&E’s Lars Type 1, but the LARS XLS is a fully balanced 32WPC momoblack power amplifier that uses 300B-XLS tubes, optimized for highest power within the limits of the tubes and for a higher damping factor. Introduced at CES 2010, the LARS XLS features dynamic sound with a punch in the low frequency area owing to its triode tubes for the most linear operation. Priced at $110,000/pair, The XLS stands and 21kg and is available in several wood finishes in the base with clear acrylic outer mantle that protects the tubes while keeping them absolutely visible.
