18th century inspired luxurious timepiece strikes back

Before we knew the clocks as we know them today, they were masterpieces assembled together with weight as a motive force; and as we come across this two-meter-tall, dual-weighted clock with gold-plated cogs, it’s as if a three centuries old British clockmaking legend has been reborn. Inspired by the creations of 18th century British clockmaker and geologist John Whitehurst, this luxurious timepiece worth $225,000 uses single source material to prevent inaccuracies due to parts expanding at different rates. It won’t come as a surprise that the timekeeper is so precise that it only loses or gains a second every month and is better than some of the quartz watches.
