Adam Cornish’s Wood Hammock with human spine in mind for the computer era

Nandini Maheshwari / Mar 7 2011

If Herman Miller ever designed a hammock to cater to the diverse ways laptop owners like to work in, then this award-winning wooden hammock by Australian designer Adam Cornish has just made using a laptop while lying in a hammock officially become a no-strain working posture. The beautiful design lays equal emphasis on ergonomics and environment to make it an alluring piece for every decor. The wooden hammock is manufactured from a single piece of plantation-grown plywood, and it is designed with the human spine in mind to keep you in correct posture even when lying. The Wooden Hammock has earlier won the Workshopped‘s Peoples Choice Award in Sydney last year, and earlier this month it caught the attention of the Herman Miller Asia Pacific – Yves Behar Design Competition. The Australian designer will also receive a one-on-one mentoring session with Yves Behar Béhar, who has earlier collaborated with the American brand for its SAYL work chair.
