Inspired by advanced aerospace engineering, the Carbon22 furniture collection by Dario Antonioni of Orange22 Design Lab is a treat for aviation enthusiasts, the design conscious and art lovers. Antonioni is a trained aerospace engineer turned product designer, and he says that the Carbon22 collection is not just furniture, but art. With all the pieces in the collection, you can see the influence of Dario Antonioni's life-long love affair with aerospace engineering. The collection includes a desk, stool, end table, a cocktail table and a signature chair. All the furniture units are made from 100% carbon fiber and utilize advanced technologies to carve “blacker than black” furniture. Since the collection is inspired by flight, each piece creates sensual flows of air when tested in a wind tunnel. The harmonious lines and use of distinctive materials add to the wow factor. Carbon fiber, we know is very lightweight, and combined with Antonioni’s visual aesthetics, creates an aspect of something totally new and different.

Antonioni's creations are admired by experts of high‐end design, including Ralph Lauren, Henri Bendel, Ian Schrager, Edward Norton and many others. Moreover, he designs custom pieces for Hollywood's A-list. That said and you can imagine the price tags on his unique furniture pieces. The Carbon22 chair alone comes for a cool $22,000 and it’s worth it if you are fascinated by any flight-inspired creations.

Each Carbon22 object within the collection, produced in limited numbers, will be signed and sold to collectors with the original molds. Pricing for each limited edition piece falls between $20,000 and $120,000. For that amount, these units should actually take to the skies.
