Aircrafts that could take to the skies in the year 2025

NASA has lately released images of three commercial aircraft designs, which could be flying in the skies by 2025. Last year NASA awarded contracts to three teams at Lockheed Martin, Northrop Gurmman and Boeing to create a perfect plane for 2025. NASA required each aircraft to fly up to 85 percent of the speed of sound, cover a range of approximately 7,000 miles and carry between 50,000 and 100,000 lbs. of passengers or cargo. Other parameters included less noise, better mileage and cleaner exhaust while flying on a more modernized air traffic system. Check out the three designs after the jump…

These concept aircraft designs will be developed further, and only time will tell what the actual ones would look like when they hit the skies in 2025. By that time, we might also see something like the Airbus Concept Plane flying high. NASA has earlier shown us the Aircraft Designs for 2035.
