'Aquariva by Gucci' luxury speedboat
To mark its 90th anniversary year in 2011, the Italian luxury brand Gucci has collaborated with Italian yacht builder Riva and design studio Officina Italiana Design to introduce an exclusive made to order luxury speedboat dubbed Aquariva by Gucci. Customized by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini, the new boat has been designed on the lines of the original Aquariva model created by Riva and Officina Italian Design in 2000. Keeping intact the tradition of classic elegance, the luxurious vessel celebrates the traditions and values of both Gucci and Riva. It has a fiberglass hull, a mahogany deck, Gucci’s signature green and red stripes and a horde of Riva by Gucci accessories, which includes bags, towels, deck shoes and flip-flops. The 33-foot Aquariva by Gucci speedboat boasts two 380-horsepower Yanmar engines delivering a maximum speed of 41 knots and a 150-mile range at cruising speed.

Over the decades the iconic Riva boat has become without doubt one of the most evocative images of Italian style, sophistication and elegance. It is a symbol of a glamorous lifestyle that sparks fond memories of La Dolce Vita - a golden age when both Gucci and Riva attracted an enthusiastic following among the international jet set.

I can’t wait to see this Aquariva by Gucci in the water, a project that perfectly represents the balance between tradition and modernity, destined to become a symbol of Italian style and craftsmanship.
The Aquariva by Gucci made its debut at the International Cannes Boat Show on September 7, 2010 and will be shown at the world's most prestigious boat shows and international destinations. Pricing for the Aquariva by Gucci starts at 590,000 Euros (about $750,800).
