Boeing 747 takes a curvaceous shape in feminine ‘Wing House’
While most of the retired aircrafts face a very dreadful fate as they rust in the airplane scrap yard, still some are turned into scrap metal and some are stripped of useful parts, but there’re still a few that gets converted into a luxury home. Back in 2006, when we first heard about this California woman getting her house constructed from a 747 Jumbo jet, it only appeared a flight of fancy. However, as the construction takes pace to be completed later this year, this "feminine," "curvaceous" and "eco-friendly" house dubbed as "Wing House" is sure to inspire a few more billionaires to transform their retired birds into luxury homes. Since it’s a 747 scrap we are talking about, it costs around $35,000 to start off with, but in this case it was $100,000 and the cost of the construction is likely to run into several million dollars.
