From Easy Street to Modern Times, Charlie Chaplin has given us some of the funniest and most famous movies of all time. He is undoubtedly an icon of the silent film era. Here is a unique chance for his fans and car collectors to own a ride that once belonged to this Hollywood icon. Charlie Chaplin’s two-toned dual cowl long wheelbase 1929 Pierce-Arrow has now appeared on eBay. By the 1920s, Chaplin was the most famous entertainer in the world, and his earnings were over $600,000 a year.

He bought the car at the beginning of the Great Depression. Priced from $2,800 to over $8,000, the Pierce-Arrow was one of the highly sought after vehicles of that time by Hollywood stars, corporate tycoons and royalty. In 1929, Pierce-Arrow made a new record by selling around 10,000 cars. Charlie Chaplin’s 1929 Pierce-Arrow Dual Cowl Phaeton Model 143 later became part of the race legend Andy Granatelli's automobile collection before reaching the Automotive Road of Dreams Museum in Orange County, California.
