What credit crunch? It’s Christmas time and people do have a reason to spend. After the $850,000 Gold Christmas Tree and the Diamond Christmas tree by Steve Quick Jeweler, another expensive Christmas tree has just gone on display in Japan, and it costs a whopping £1 million (US $1,487,358). Weighing in at 21 kilograms, this gold tree is adorned with more than 240 jewels, including diamond baubles and strings of pearls. The tree is on display at the Ginza Tanaka jewelry shop in Shinsaibashi, Osaka. Store officials say that they have created this 24k gold tree to create a "gorgeous atmosphere". Anyway, this gold Christmas tree is not the world's most expensive, as we have already seen the Christmas tree worth $1.8 million.
