Chromed Audi R8 Spyder sold for $400,000!

We have recently told you about the chromed Audi R8 Spyder that went up for auction to benefit Elton John's charity foundation. The chromed Audi finally has been auctioned at the 13th edition of Sir Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball event this year for a price of $400k. The event was held at famous music superstar, Sir Elton John’s home along with his partner David Furnish.

Audi too has been supporting this cause for the ninth consecutive year. With a special chrome exterior finish, the Audi R8 has a 5.2 liter engine generating 525 horsepower at 8000 Rpm. The car has an average of 12 kms to a gallon and can speed up to 0-100 kmph in merely 3.7 seconds.The chromed Audi too features a rear view camera, signature LED headlamps, Bluetooth seat-belt microphone and has a special six speed manual transmitter. The car also has an exceptional ten-cylinder, 525PS petrol engine. Audi has raised around $220 million ever since the organization was conceptualized in 1993. The German car makers have been producing limited editon models in collaboration with EJAF for last eight years especially for this charity cause held at Tie & Tierra ball every year.

Jeremy Hicks, Director of Audi UK said, “Sir Elton John’s fundraising ball really is a golden ticket event that is as glamorous as it is hugely effective in fundraising terms.” Although EJAF is one of the major charity organizations that is run by the profound musician but, Sir John has also auctioned some of his luxury items like blinged’ iPods and Rolls Royce Phantom Drop-head Coupe that fetched a price $1.6 million.
