Couple converts cramped kitchen into luxurious and practical living space
When Jonathan and Victoria Bullock bought their home, a large barn conversion from the ‘70s with an old-fashioned kitchen with no dining area, they knew it desperately needed a makeover. So, the couple commissioned the Kitchen Design Centre to design a modern kitchen that could suit the family-orientated lifestyle. The kitchen area was transformed into a dining and seating area, and the new extension was made a contemporary open plan kitchen. Jonathan said…

With a young family, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen area and wanted a dining space and sitting area, so we decided to open up the existing rooms and extend to create a more usable space. Our old kitchen resembled a room in a caravan. We knew it needed a makeover.
The room has more than enough space now, with plenty of light coming in through the tri-fold patio doors and large windows. The centerpiece of the renovated kitchen is a 4-meter island, which makes for the perfect cooking area and storage space. Suzanne, designer at Kitchen Design Centre’s Manchester showroom, said…
We went through the plans, and supplied them with 3D images of how the kitchen would look. These images really helped Victoria and Jonathan visualise how the kitchen would be in reality.
The kitchen has been equipped with all the modern-day amenities, such as a combination microwave, oven, coffee machine, warming drawers, induction hobs, integrated fridge, freezer and dishwasher and a 100 degrees Quooker hot tap.
