Crocodile Pippa Chair from Hermes worth $24,000

Yashpal Sharma / Jan 27 2009

Hermes, the French high fashion house that specializes in leather and luxury lifestyle accessories, has just unveiled a new piece of unique luxury furniture, the classic Pippa folding chair fabricated with the world's finest matte black crocodile skin meant for the well-heeled. The limited edition small space-friendly chair that can be folded into a compact package comes in fine ebony finishing with legs and arms painted in nickel metal. The portable design is a replica of the original chair designed by architect and designer Rena Dumas a couple of decades back that offers greater maneuverability and stability on the move. Low on features, high on price ($24,000), the chair doesn’t show any design innovation, though, it’s only pieces of quality crocodile skin that make it cost so much.
