Design Q unveils their latest ABJ Elegante concept for the Avro Business Jet
For the uber rich flyers that are keen to know about the futuristic aircraft designs, Design Q, a well-known name in the field of futuristic aircraft design, is all set to launch their new innovative concept. We have earlier seen many futuristic designs by Design Q, like The ABJ Fusion and Air Deck that are innovative concepts and first in the aviation field.

BAE Systems and leading UK design consultancy Design Q today revealed their newest concept for the Avro Business Jet (ABJ). The concept is the fourth of five concepts of VIP interiors by BAE Systems. The first two concepts were unveiled at EBACE in October 2010. The ABJ Fusion that was the third one was aimed at the sports teams, musicians, celebrities and corporate VIPs and was also revealed in October 2010.
The ABJ Eleganté is the fourth concept and features a fluid layout that directs travelers throughout the aircraft and enhances the available space. The fabric finishes with fluid shapes promise a stylish interior and thus create a tuneful effect.
This forth concept by the company is highly affordable and has a complete state of the art interior. The aircraft design is made by keeping such customers in mind who like to travel in full comfort with ample space.
While entering the aircraft the first thing that is the customer will see is an extremely spacious cabin followed by a large gallery at the front of the aircraft that can be secluded from the main cabin for privacy.
The social area was kept in mind, as the lounge has two large sofas to relax and socialize on. The area also has a big dining table in the aft section with a huge 46” display screen. This area can also be utilized for official purposes, as it has information screens fixed into the facade with power supply for laptops and a central pop-up communication center.
The furniture of the aircraft is made by high quality wood veneer and designed to match the light ambience.
An additional lounge and a private office is attached to the aft cabin, and each cabin is furnished with a personal bookshelf for the passengers. The same cabin can be swiftly converted into a private bedroom with a full-sized double bed.
A full height wardrobe and full width bathroom/dressing room is stretched in the aircraft. The bathroom has an exquisite wash basin that is decorated with rear stone wall and rich texture of the wood veneered side units. The bathroom also has a revolving mirror house and a masked storage area. A stone floor is featured with noise reducing curtains over the rear exit doors.
Technical Sales Executive for BAE Systems Regional Aircraft, Chris Sedgwick, stated that “A fully converted ABJ of this level of quality can be put on the ramp for between US $12-15 million, or the cost of a much smaller mid-sized business jet, and certainly for considerably less than a new-build regional jet conversion. The large cabin space of the ABJ means that an interior arrangement close to that of a Boeing Business Jet can be accommodated, so the ABJ can be a useful complement to the bigger aircraft for shorter journeys, or to access difficult, short or unpaved airfields.”
The ABJ Eleganté is an exceptional product that offers a resourceful and spacious interior and great value for the money.
