Most expensive saddle crafted to mark 100th Anniversary of Calgary Stampede

Calgary Stampede, which is a famous and a known event in the region of Canada, will have limited edition handcrafted saddles on sale to commemorate the 100th year of the event. Handcrafted and detailed by the saddle maker Vic Bennett, these "2012 Centennial Saddles" are meant for the moneyed horseback rider who would look to have a piece of sporting history as he or she rides their horse.

Horseback riding has been a favorite recreation activity among the moneyed, and the Calgary Stampede stands a marked event in that regard. Divided into different categories, the horses shall compete against one in the final round where the winners will be given among other things, a saddle as the winning gift. These saddles shall be funded from the sale of the custom made, hand crafted and limited edition saddles which have been made to mark this year’s race. These leather saddles come from the house of Vic Bennet, who is a known name for his designing skills in this area. Known to be rugged and versatile, they come with special lazered version of the logo and monogram of the event to mark its significance, and will be individually autographed by Vic Bennet and Michael Casey before going on sale later this year. As mentioned, these are going to be in limited supply, as only 100 of them are to be made available for sale, at a price of $5,000 apiece.

With the presence of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, in the opening segment of the event, it will sure garner attention from fans all over the world, and the saddles will be collectors’ items for the moneyed stud-race lovers.
