Harry Allen’s $1,900 piggy bank is literally hungry for your money

Saving your coins would be true fun with the piggy bank designed by Harry Allen for Steuben, manufacturer of handmade art glass and crystal. Designer Allen, who has earlier given us the gold piggy bank, has kept his focus on Steuben’s expertise of making blown, cut and etched designs, and small animal sculptures. Steuben’s creations are exquisitely sculpted and delicately balanced.

With the artistic piggy bank, Allen has tried to connect to the company's glorious past. This crystal piggy bank uses the piggy’s snout instead of a traditional coin slot. When you cap it, the stopper doubles as the nostrils. He’s just hungry for your money, the designer says. Yes, it really is, as it costs a cool $1,900.
