Last year, Gebr Heinemann put a 1959 Vintage Porsche up for sale at Hamburg airport. This time, the German travel retailer has teamed up with William Grant & Sons’ Glenfiddich to commemorate the Hamburg Airport’s 100th anniversary. Heinemann is offering 100 bottles of Glenfiddich 1982 through its Duty Free stores. The Glenfiddich 1982 single malt Scotch whisky is part of the Glenfiddich Rare Collection.

Each bottle in the limited offering has a label bearing its bottle number. The bottle labeled No. 1 has been offered to Hamburg Airport executive board members Michael Eggenschwiler and Claus-Dieter Wehr. Gebr Heinemann co-owner Gunnar Heinemannalong with malt master Brian Kinsman personally selected the finest whiskies to mark the occasion.

According to the brand owner, the spirit is a rich golden color and the smell is rich and vibrant, combining layers of vanilla oak with zesty orange, delicate spice and a hint of linseed oil. The Glenfiddich 1982 Limited Edition whisky is available from the Heinemann Duty Free Shop at a price of €495 ($715).

Recently, at the “Master of Spirits” gala event organized by DFS and Changi Airport Group, the leading independent distiller William Grant & Sons proudly presented two rare 50-year-old bottles of Glenfiddich.
