The Aston Martin One-77 is an extremely special edition supercar limited to only 77 units worldwide. While a One-77 was sold lately for a whopping $7.21 million in China, a businessman from Christchurch in New Zealand has spent a cool $2.8 million to get behind the wheels of this exotic car. At $2.8 million, the Aston Martin One-77 supercar is being said to be the most expensive car ever ordered by a Kiwi buyer.

Before reaching Mainfreight cofounder Neil Graham, the car arrived in Auckland aboard a Singapore Airlines 747 last week. Mr. Graham, worth around least $60 million, already owns a fleet of luxury cars, which includes a Mercedes SL 65 AMG valued at $950,000.

Independent Prestige, Auckland's Aston Martin dealership, presented the One-77 to clients on Saturday at its Great North Rd showroom. After that, Aston Martin New Zealand sent a technician to the UK with Mr. Graham to inspect the luxury supercar. Mr. Graham, on his new wheels, said…

I think it's fair to say that I'm looking forward to test-driving it.

Independent Prestige general manager Lee Small praised the One-77 as an absolute work of art and cited that he doesn't remember a car with higher price tag to come to New Zealand. He further said…

[The One-77 is] is extremely fast. It's a sculpture, really. I don't know how often I'd use it.

The Aston Martin One-77, weighing in at just just 3,310 lbs, enjoys a complete carbon fiber chassis and aluminum body. The power comes from a 7.3-liter V12 making 760 hp (559 kW), which helps it sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just over 3.5 seconds. The top speed sits at 220 mph (354 km/h).

Mr. Graham’s custom-built One-77 will have a black exterior coat with red leather upholstery.
