Jaguar celebrates 50th anniversary with a custom new 2011 Jaguar XK roadster

We had earlier shown you the Jaguar E-type’s 50th anniversary plans, where the company was stated to kickoff the Geneva Motor Show 2011, and use multiple promotion activities regarding the occasion. To commemorate the event, the largest dealer of Jaguar cars in the United States, Gaplin Jaguar has launched a pair of vintage and new XK roadster versions of the car, which shall be on display on the day of the 50th anniversary of a historical racing vehicle.

Going back in history, the Jaguar E-type won praises and accolades from every quarter possible. From rival car maker Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari commented on it by saying its ‘the most beautiful racing car ever made’, and Daily Telegraph included the car at the top spot for the list of ‘100 most beautiful cars’. Also New York’s Museum of Modern Art has the car on display for all auto lovers. Its technicalities featured a 3.8 liter engine which generated 256 bhp of power, and had a top speed of 150 mph, and not to forget the beauty which had received praises from every corner possible. Speaking of the new pair which will be launched, the pair has been given designing and styling cues based on the original version, such as the primrose paint, 20-inch alloy wheels, matching wooden vintage trimming on the interiors, and the black chrome treatment at the grills and car underskirts.

Very soon, this limited edition pair will be on sale at the Gaplin Jaguar showroom in Los Angeles for a price tag of just under $200,000. Looking at the elaborate history associated with the Jaguar E-type, this pair will certainly be zoomed away before one blinks, as auto-lovers will be on the prowl at the sale event. So if you have the cash, it certainly could be worth the try.
