Katie Eary’s military-inspired, crystal-encrusted jacket
Victoria snd Albert Museum in London is running an exhibition named "Future Fashion Now: New Design from the Royal College of Art" between May 22, 2009 and January 31, 2010. The exhibition will feature highlights from the Royal College of Art (RCA) 2008 Fashion MA graduates' final collections. In total, 55 outfits and accessories from 27 designers will be displayed in four sections - Concept, Form, Technique and Detail. The “Concept” includes a military-inspired, crystal-encrusted jacket by menswear designer Katie Eary, and will be shown alongside images from her preparatory sketchbook with photographs which informed and inspired the designer’s work. On the other hand, the “Detail” section includes Benjamin Shun Lai Ng's crystal-studded footwear. The display featuring the work by 27 designers reveals aspects of the design process.
