Limited edition gold baseball glove lends Midas touch to the all-stars game
Baseball as a game seems to in the middle of a gold rush in recent times, which was shown in our coverage of the limited edition Golden Baseball, which became a first of its kind to be used at a game in a major league. To add to this gold rush, is the special gold glove, which will be adorned by 12 stars of the all-stars game to be held later this year.
We have also touched upon rare gloves like the Michael Jackson white glove had sold for over £ 440,000, and the Contra Mundum armored glove designed by Daphne Guinness and Shaun Leane. The latest to join that league will the 12 gloves that will be created especially for the all-stars game coming up later this year. This game usually marks the high point of the baseball season, where all the major stars play off each other in a special game, and this year too will focus on stars like Jose Bautista who has been the centre for all fans votes. The gloves in question are leather gloves which will have gold blended with the material to have a gold lining on the inside of the glove, and adding meaning to the words ‘Midas touch’. As per speculations, the players have already taken a liking to it for its comfortable finish, and are waiting to get their hands into these limited edition gloves.
The maker of these gloves, is Flanklin Sports which has earlier created special sports goods.Let’s just hope, that these sporting gears actually help the stars lend a ‘Midas touch’ to the game they play.
