Mark Zuckerberg pledges to give away majority of his wealth to charity
This year’s Forbes 400 list of the richest people in America ranked Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as the 35th richest person in the US, with a net worth of $6.9 billion. Zuckerberg, one of the biggest climbers on the Forbes billionaire list, has now joined 15 other billionaires, including Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, to give away the majority of his wealth to charity. The 16 tycoons have signed "The Giving Pledge," which means that these billionaires have committed publicly to giving away the majority of their fortunes to philanthropy.

Other names on the list include AOL co-founder Steve Case, investor Carl Icahn, former junk-bond king Michael Milken, Oracle Corp. founder Larry Ellison, film director George Lucas and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In September this year, Mark Zuckerberg announced on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that he was donating $100 million to public schools in Newark.
