MB&F takes a leap with the HM3 Frog Zr in purple

For those who crave for excellence, exclusivity and choice, the makers of horological machines, Maximilian Büsser & Friends (MB&F) has now added the new Horological Machine N°3 Frog to its "Frog" family. Christened HM3 Frog Zr (aka Black Frog), the stunning timepiece brings a sense of playfulness into high-end watchmaking. The "Zr" adds to the name owing to the fact that this is the first offering from the house that is done in zirconium. Zirconium is a metal similar to titanium but even tougher.

Based on the HM3 Frog from last year, the new limited edition Frog Zr features an eye-catching purple gold rotor. While the hour and minute hands rotate around their respective stationary cones on HM3, the aluminum domes rotate under the sapphire crystals in the Frog. The hour and minute domes are machined from solid aluminum. The hour dome of the Frog, instead of 24-hour revolution, rotates in 12 hours that also drives the massive date wheel.

The brightly colored 22K gold battle-axe winding rotor and the details of the movement are sure to attract the attention of the lovers of fine watcmaking. Limited to 18 units in black PVD-coated zirconium with purple rotor, the HM3 Frog Z3 will sell for $92,000 only.
