A pair of diamonds could fetch $18M at Christie’s magnificent Jewels sale
Christie’s magnificent Jewels sale takes place every year and sells off some of the most expensive jewelry in this auction. This year again, the Christie’s Hong Kong will organize of Magnificent Jewels on November 29 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The sale will feature stunning diamonds, rare jadeite and precious gems.
The auction is estimated to fetch around $75 million in total. The most expensive jewelry that is expected to fetch $18 Million is a pair of two round D flawless diamonds weighing 35.77 and 35.61 carats each. The diamonds that are as big as cherry tomatoes has a certification of Triple Excellent” rating their polish, evenness and cut grade. These diamonds are also the most chemically pure form of diamond and are Type IIa diamonds. The diamonds are especially cut by the Steinmetz Diamond Group.
The auctioneers at Christie’s said
To find large pieces of colorless rough within the same timeframe represents an extremely rare occurrence, To combine that with the vision to obtain a closely matched pair raises the project to new heights. This pair was exhibited by Steinmetz at the Guggenheim in New York in December 2010.
Other then these pair of diamonds, Jewels by Harry Winston will be outstanding at the auction. A stunning emerald brooch was originally purchased by a Texas oil-man and personal client to Mr. Winston who bought it for his wife. The brooch is expected to fetch between $2 million and $3 million.
An amazing pearl necklace is made of saltwater natural pearls that have 16 matching button-shaped pearls of impressive size. This beautiful natural pearl necklace is expected to fetch $1.6 million to $2.25 million at the auction.
Any Christie’s magnificent Jewels sale has never gone without selling off stunning jadeite. This year too is not an exception a jadeite pendant necklace featuring a carved jadeite plaque is up for sale. This pendent is expected to fetch $2 million – $3 million.
